कोलकाता से भागलपुर जा रही AC बस में लगी भीषण आग, 50 यात्री बाल-बाल बचे, सामान जलकर खाक
बर्दवान: कोलकाता के बाबूघाट से बिहार के भागलपुर जा रही एक निजी एसी यात्री बस में अचानक लगी भीषण आग के कारण बस में सवार करीब 50 यात्रियों की जान बाल बाल बच गई. हालांकि, इस घटना में बस में मौजूद यात्रियों का सारा सामान जलकर खाक हो गया
यह घटना पूर्व बर्दवान जिले के बर्दवान सदर थाना इलाके के नवाबहाट के पास रविवार मध्य रात घटी. घटना की सूचना के बाद तत्काल दमकल कर्मियों इंजन के आने के बाद करीब 2 घंटों के प्रयास के बाद आग को नियंत्रित किया गया. हालांकि इस बीच बस की छत पर मौजूद समस्त सामान जलकर राख हो गए. घटना की सूचना के बाद पुलिस भी मौके वारदात पर पहुंचकर परिस्थिति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए जुड़ गई.
*2 घंटे तक अवरोध रहा हाईवे*
इस घटना के बाद मची अफरा-तफरी को देखते हुए अतिरिक्त पुलिस बल को उतारा गया. हालांकि, इस हादसे के कारण दो नंबर हाईवे करीब 2 घंटे तक अवरोध रहा. बाद में परिस्थिति नियंत्रित होने पर क्षतिग्रस्त बस को हटाया गया तथा यात्रियों को अन्य बस के माध्यम से उनके गंतव्य के लिए रवाना किया गया. घटना के संबंध में प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों तथा पुलिस ने बताया कि रविवार की रात कोलकाता बाबूघाट बस स्टैंड से रात करीब साढ़े ग्यारह बजे निकली. बिहार दुमका होते हुए भागलपुर जाने वाली एक निजी यात्री बस जब बर्दवान के नवाबहाट के पास रात ढेड़ बजे के करीब पहुंची तभी उक्त बस का पिछला टायर फट गया. बस अनियंत्रित हो गई और अचानक बस में आग लग गई.

देखते ही देखते आग ने भीषण रूप धारण कर लिया. बस में करीब 50 यात्री सवार थे. किसी तरह बस से वे लोग बाहर निकल कर सड़क पर आ गए. लेकिन जब तक यात्री बाहर निकलते इस बीच आग ने पूरी तरह से बस को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया और देखते ही देखते बस में भीषण आग लग गई. बस में मौजूद यात्रियों के सामान जलकर राख हो गए. स्थानीय लोगों की सूचना के बाद पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और दमकल को सूचना दी

दमकल कर्मियों ने आग को नियंत्रित करने की कोशिश की. बस के यात्रियों ने बताया कि बस भागलपुर की ओर जा रही थी कि अचानक बस का पिछला पहिया फट गया और बस नवाबहाट मोड़ के पास रुक गई. इसके बाद बस में आग लग गई. आनन-फानन में यात्री बस से उतर गए, लेकिन यात्रियों का काफी सामान और बस की छत पर रखा सामान जलकर राख हो गया. दमकल विभाग को सूचना दी गई तो दमकल की 2 गाड़ियां आईं और आग पर काबू पाया. घटना के कारण राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग संख्या दो की दुर्गापुर जाने वाली लेन कई घंटों तक जाम रही. बर्दवान पुलिस ने घटना की जांच शुरू की है.
Burdwan: Due to a sudden fierce fire in a private AC passenger bus going from Babughat in Kolkata to Bhagalpur in Bihar, the lives of about 50 passengers in the bus were narrowly saved. However, in this incident, all the belongings of the passengers present in the bus were burnt to ashes.
This incident took place on Sunday midnight near Nawabhat of Burdwan Sadar police station area of East Burdwan district. The fire was controlled after almost 2 hours of effort after the arrival of the fire brigade personnel engine immediately after the incident was reported. However, in the meantime, all the goods on the roof of the bus were burnt to ashes. After the information of the incident, the police also reached the spot and got involved to control the situation.
Highway blocked for 2 hours
In view of the chaos created after this incident, the additional police force was brought down. However, due to this accident, the number two highway was blocked for about 2 hours. Later, after the situation was controlled, the damaged bus was removed and the passengers were sent to their destination through another bus. In relation to the incident, eyewitnesses and the police told that on Sunday night Kolkata left from Babughat bus stand at around 11.30 pm. When a private passenger bus going to Bhagalpur via Bihar’s Dumka reached near Nawabhat of Burdwan around 1.30 pm, the rear tire of the said bus burst. The bus went out of control and suddenly the bus caught fire.
There were about 50 passengers in the bus.
The fire took a fierce form in no time. There were about 50 passengers in the bus. Somehow they got out of the bus and came on the road. But by the time the passengers got out, the fire engulfed the bus completely and soon the bus caught fire. The belongings of the passengers present in the bus were burnt to ashes. After the information of the local people, the police reached the spot and informed the fire brigade.

Firefighters tried to control the fire. Passengers of the bus told that the bus was going towards Bhagalpur that suddenly the rear wheel of the bus burst and the bus stopped near Nawabhat turn. After this the bus caught fire. In a hurry, the passengers got off the bus, but a lot of luggage of the passengers and the luggage kept on the roof of the bus were burnt to ashes.
