तोता जिसे लोग प्यार और दुलार से सुग्गा या मिठू भी कहते है. उसकी आकर्षक बनावट, उसके रहन- सहन और मनुष्य की नक़ल करने की ललक उसे आकर्षण के केंद्र में बनाए रखता है. तोता पालने का शौक हर किसी को होता है. इसकी बोली की मिठास सबको अपना दीवाना बना लेती है. बिहार के जमुई जिले के तेतरिया गांव में एक ऐसा ही तोता है ,जो लोगों के आकर्षण का केंद्र बना हुआ है. जैसे ही लोग उसके पास जाते हैं, वह हिंदुस्तान जिंदाबाद के नारे लगाने लगता है. बात सिर्फ इतनी ही नहीं है, नारे लगाते समय वह हाथ समझ कर अपना एक पैर भी ऊपर उठाता है.

दूरदराज से लोग पहुंच रहे देखने और सुनने

तोते के इस देश प्रेम को देखकर दूरदराज से लोग ऐसे देखने के लिए आते है. तेतरिया गांव निवासी मंटू इस तोते को 4 साल पहले भीमबाद इलाके के घने जंगल से लाये थे. बताया कि वह खाली समय अपने तोते के पास बैठकर उससे बात किया करते थे. धीरे-धीरे तोता उनकी बातें दोहराने लगा. अब तो तोता इंसान जैसी आवाज में हिंदुस्तान और देश के पीएम के लिए जिंदाबाद का नारा लगाता है. ग्रामीणों के अनुसार तोते की बोली सुनने के लिए दूरदराज से गांव के लोग यहां आ रहे है. तोता हिंदुस्तान जिंदाबाद के नारे के अलावा शराब नहीं पीने की चेतावनी ,घर के बच्चों को पढ़ाई करने की हिदायत और छेड़ने पर नहीं छोड़ने की धमकी भी देता है. यह तोता इलाके में चर्चा का विषय बना हुआ है.

जानिए तोते की कुछ खासियत. तोता एक समझदार पक्षी होता है. इंसान की नक़ल करने में बड़ा ही माहिर होता है. यह अपने भोजन को पहले अपने पैरो के पंजो में रखता है. फिर अपनी मजबूत चोंच से तोड़कर खाता है. मीठी आवाज़ की वजह से कई लोग इसे मिठ्ठू भी कहते है. तोते की देखनी क्षमता तेज होती है. ये पक्षी अन्य पक्षियों के आवाज की भी नक़ल कर सकता है. कुछ तोते के गले पर लाल रंग का गोल सर्कल होता है. और सफ़ेद चोंच होती है. यह एक सामाजिक पक्षी है. यानि तोते अकसर झुण्ड में रहते है. नर और मादा आमतौर पर एक जैसे ही लगते है. यानि पता लगना मुश्किल होता कि नर कौन है और मादा कौन है. नर तोते और मादा जोड़े बनाकर रहते है. इतना ही नही बल्कि ये जीवनभर के लिए साथ रहते है. यह एक शाकाहारी पक्षी है. जिनका मुख्य भोजन फल बीज , दाना , मिर्च और सब्जियाँ होते.

Seeing this parrot’s love for the country, people come from far off places to see it. Mantu, a resident of Tetaria village, had brought this parrot 4 years ago from the dense forest of Bhimabad area. Told that he used to sit near his parrot and talk to him during his free time. Slowly the parrot started repeating his words. Now a parrot shouts the slogan of Zindabad for the PM of India and the country in a human-like voice. According to the villagers, the people of the village are coming here from far off places to listen to the speech of the parrot. Apart from the slogan of Hindustan Zindabad, the parrot also warns not to drink alcohol, instructs the children of the house to study and threatens not to leave if teased. This parrot has become a topic of discussion in the area.
