120 shops gutted by fire in Bodhgaya near Mahabodhi Temple.

About 120 shops were burnt to ashes in the fruits and vegetables market in tragic fire on Verma Road following the blast of gas cylinders hardly 500 meters away from Mahabodhi temple in Bodhgaya
Through reliable sources, the tragedy took place as burning scraps was left behind the fruit and vegetable markets.

It slowly went on spreading and engulfed hundreds of shops nearby. As a result, it soon went on catching fire one after another in quick succession with the blast of cylinders. The intensity of fire was such that it engulfed within minutes, leaving no scope to control it. It turned ferocious and gutted about 120 shops. As per police sources, 5 to 6 motorcycles were also reduced to ashes. However, no casualties were reported. It left all panicky in the vicinity of the area. It is said that some fruit shops were set up by foreigners with bamboo which went into ashes.
About half a dozen Fire brigades were brought to douse the fire. Lakhs of worth of properties have been reduced to ashes.
