देव सूर्य मंदिर का इतिहास काफी समृद्ध है, इस मंदिर का निर्माण स्वयं भगवान विश्वकर्मा ने किया था. देवार्क सूर्य मंदिर देश का इकलौता ऐसा सूर्य मंदिर है, जिसका द्वार पूर्व की ओर न खुलकर पश्चिम की ओर खुलता है. नागर शैली की तर्ज पर बना यह मंदिर नक्काशीदार पत्थरों को जोड़कर बनाया गया है. इस मंदिर के गर्भगृह के ऊपर कमलनुमा शिखर बना है,जो इसकी आभा को बढ़ाता है. इस अत्यंत सुंदर मंदिर में स्थापित भगवान सूर्य देवता की मूर्ति सात घोड़ों वाले रथ पर सवार है,जो पर्यटकों के बीच आकर्षण का मुख्य केंद्र है.
इस मंदिर में भगवान सूर्य की आराधना तीन रूपों में की जाती है – उदयाचल (प्रातः सूर्य), मध्याचल (मध्य सूर्य), और अस्ताचल (अस्त सूर्य)। यहां हर वर्ष छठ पूजा के दौरान लाखों की संख्या में श्रद्धालु आते हैं। इस प्राचीन सूर्य मंदिर की शिल्पकला और स्थापत्य कला अत्यंत प्रशंसनीय है। मंदिर की ऊंचाई करीब 100 फीट है और इसे विभिन्न प्रकार के पत्थरों से बनाया गया है। इसके संदर्भ में लोग मानते हैं कि भगवान सूर्य की भक्ति से उनकी मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती हैं। मंदिर के पास एक सूर्यकुंड भी है, जो इसकी अद्वितीयता को और बढ़ाता है।

Where is Dev Surya Temple
Dev Surya Temple, dedicated to Lord Surya, is also famous by the name of Devarka Sun Temple. This temple is situated at a place called Dev in Aurangabad district of Bihar. This place is 18 km away from Aurangabad district. You can also come to Sun Temple by bus, train and air route. Its nearest railway station is Anugrah Narayan Road, which is about 20 km from Deo. Its distance from Patna is about 150 km. During the festival of Chhath, a large number of devotees and tourists come here to worship the Sun God.

The history of Dev Surya Temple is quite rich, this temple was built by Lord Vishwakarma himself. Devarak Sun Temple is the only Sun Temple in the country, whose door does not open towards the east but towards the west. Built on the lines of Nagar style, this temple has been built by joining carved stones. There is a lotus shaped peak above the sanctum sanctorum of this temple, which enhances its aura. The idol of Lord Sun installed in this very beautiful temple is riding on a chariot with seven horses, which is the main center of attraction among the tourists.
In this temple, Lord Surya is worshiped in three forms – Udayachal (morning Sun), Madhyachal (middle Sun), and Astachal (setting Sun). Lakhs of devotees come here every year during Chhath Puja. The craftsmanship and architecture of this ancient Sun Temple is highly admirable. The height of the temple is about 100 feet and it is made of different types of stones. In this context, people believe that their wishes are fulfilled by worshiping Lord Surya. There is also a Suryakund near the temple, which further adds to its uniqueness.
