जमशेदपुर से प्रकाशित एक दैनिक समाचार पत्र में मदर्स डे के मौके पर सिंगल मदर गीता नायक को लेकर छपी खबर पढ़ने के बाद उपायुक्त श्रीमती विजया जाधव ने मिलने की इच्छा जताई थी । आज गीता नायक जब उपायुक्त से मिलीं तो उनकी आपबीती एवं संघर्षों को सुनकर उपायुक्त भी भावविह्वल हो गईं। उन्होने गीता नायक की तारीफ करते हुए कहा कि आप बहुत बहादुर हो, जिस परिस्थिति में लोगों के हौसले जवाब दे देते हैं उसमें आप एक विशेष जरूरतों वाली बेटी को ना सिर्फ पाल पोष रही हैं बल्कि शिक्षा दीक्षा से लेकर सभी जरूरतों को पूरा कर समाज में मिसाल कायम किया है । उपायुक्त ने गीता नायक के हौसले की तारीफ करते हुए कहा कि आपमें जीवटता कूट कूट कर भरी है तथा विषम परिस्थिति में भी हार नहीं मानने का जज्बा हम सभी के लिए प्रेरणास्रोत हैं। उन्होने पारिवारिक, आर्थिक स्थिति की जानकारी ली तथा मौके पर ही पेंशन का आवेदन भी भरवाया, साथ ही आश्वस्त किया कि किसी भी वक्त कोई सहयोग की जरूरत पड़े तो बेझझक संपर्क कीजिएगा ।
गीता नायक वर्तमान में अपने मायका में सिदगोड़ा में रहती हैं। पति ने दिव्यांग बेटी के जन्म लेने पर बेटी को अपनाने से इन्कार कर दिया था जिसके बाद 21 साल की उम्र में गीता नायक ने सिंगल मदर बन बेटी को पालने का बीड़ा उठाया जिसे आज खुशी खुशी पूरा भी कर रही हैं । उन्होने उपायुक्त के प्रति आभार प्रकट किया जो इतने व्यस्त समय में खुद से मिलने बुलाईं । गीता नायक ने कहा कि उपायुक्त के स्नेहिल भाव एवं प्रेम से बात करना निश्चित ही उन्हें अपनी लड़ाई में बड़ा हौसला देगी ।
