धरती का तापमान 2030 तक 1.5 डिग्री सेल्सियस तक बढ़ने का अनुमान : डॉ संजीव पॉल
मंगलवार को एक्सएलआरआइ के 21 वें वीआइएल व कॉरपोरेट प्रोग्राम के 21 वें दीक्षांत समारोह का आयोजन किया गया. जिसमें संस्थान में संचालित विभिन्न कोर्सों के कुल 839 विद्यार्थियों को सर्टिफिकेट प्रदान किया गया. इस मौके पर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में टाटा स्टील के सेफ्टी हेल्थ एंड सस्टेनेबिलिटी के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष संजीव पॉल उपस्थित थे. उन्होंने एक्सलर्स को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र (UN) के इंटर-गवर्नमेंटल पैनल फॉर क्लाइमेट चेंज (IPCC) ने जलवायु परिवर्तन को लेकर अपनी नयी रिपोर्ट जारी की है, जिसके अनुसार 2030 तक धरती के तापमान में 1.5 डिग्री सेल्सियस तक बढ़ने का अनुमान है. इससे भारत समेत पूरी दुनिया पर बुरा प्रभाव पड़ेगा. कहा कि आज हम 8 बिलियन पर हैं और हमें संदेह है कि जीवन प्रत्याशा दर के मामले में यह 2040 तक जल्द ही 10 बिलियन हो जाएगा. इससे धरती पर संसाधनों पर जबरदस्त दबाव पड़ रहा है. हर किसी को क्लाइमेट चेंज के प्रति सजग रहने व इसमें अपनी जवाबदेही निभाने का आह्वान किया. संजीव पॉल ने कहा कि आप भविष्य में जो कुछ भी सकेंगे उसके केंद्र में देश व पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा अवश्य होनी चाहिए. इस अवसर पर एक्सएलआरआइ के डायरेक्टर फादर एस जॉर्ज ने एक्सएलआरआइ के विजन व मिशन से अवगत कराया. उन्होंने कहा कि आम तौर पर कोविड के बाद वर्चुअल लर्निंग चलन में आया, लेकिन एक्सएलआरआइ में पिछले 21 वर्षों से वर्चुअल लर्निंग के जरिये विद्यार्थियों को मैनेजमेंट की शिक्षा दी जा रही है. इस दौरान 11 अक्टूबर, 2023 से 10 अक्टूबर, 2024 के बीच एक्सएलआरआई द्वारा प्लेटिनम जुबली समारोह की भी घोषणा की गयी. इस अवसर पर अलग-अलग कोर्स के टॉपर विद्यार्थियों को मेडल व सर्टिफिकेट प्रदान किया गया.
