बैठक के बाद प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि बांग्लादेश के साथ हमारे संबंधों को भारत प्राथमिकता देता है। बांग्लादेश हमारी नेबरहुड फर्स्ट पॉलिसी, एक्ट ईस्ट पॉलिसी, विजन सागर और इंडो-पैसिफिक विजन के संगम पर स्थित है। पिछले एक साल में हमने मिलकर लोक कल्याण की कई महत्वपूर्ण परियोजनाओं को पूरा किया है। उन्होंने बताया कि दोनों देशों के बीच भारतीय रुपये में व्यापार शुरू हो गया है।

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने बांग्लादेश की प्रधानमंत्री हसीना से बातचीत के बाद यह बताया कि भारत अब ई-मेडिकल वीज़ा सुविधा शुरू करेगा, जिससे भारत आने वाले बांग्लादेशी लोगों को इलाज का अधिक सुविधाजनक तरीके से लाभ मिलेगा। उन्होंने दोनों टीमों को क्रिकेट विश्व कप मैच के लिए शुभकामनाएं दी और बताया कि बांग्लादेश भारत का महत्वपूर्ण विकास साझेदार है, जिसे हम सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता देते हैं। उन्होंने इसके अलावा कनेक्टिविटी, वाणिज्य और सहयोग पर ध्यान दिया, और बताया कि पिछले 10 वर्षों में हमने बड़े प्रोजेक्ट्स को साझा किया है। उन्होंने भारत-बांग्लादेश संबंधों के डिजिटल और एनर्जी कनेक्टिविटी पर और भी ध्यान देने की बात की और बताया कि दोनों देशों की अर्थव्यवस्थाओं को गति मिलेगी। उन्होंने इसके साथ ही बताया कि भारत और बांग्लादेश को 54 नदियां जोड़ती हैं और बढ़ती बाढ़ से निपटने, प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के लिए साझा प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं।
