असम से कोलकाता आ रही 13176 कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन उत्तर बंगाल में दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गई है। पश्चिम बंगाल के रांगापानी और निजबाड़ी स्टेशनों के बीच हुई इस दुर्घटना में कम से कम 5 लोगों की मौत हो गई है और 20 से 25 लोगों के घायल होने की सूचना है। हालांकि, अभी तक आधिकारिक तौर पर 2 लोगों की ही मौत की पुष्टि हुई है। रेलवे ने कई हेल्पलाइन नंबर जारी किए हैं, जहां से लोग रेल हादसे से जुड़ी सूचना ले सकते हैं।

दुर्घटना के बाद कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन की कई बोगियां छिटक कर इधर-उधर फैल गईं हैं। यह ट्रेन असम के सिलचर से 11:35 बजे को पश्चिम बंगाल की राजधानी कोलकाता के सियालदह स्टेशन के लिए रवाना हुई थी और अगले दिन शाम को 7:20 बजे सियालदह पहुंचनी थी। घटनास्थल पर रेलवे के बड़े अधिकारी मौजूद हैं और स्थानीय लोगों द्वारा सुरक्षाकर्मी यात्रियों की सहायता की जा रही है।
ममता बनर्जी ने कहा- आपदा राहत के लिए टीमें रवाना
पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस के दुर्घटनाग्रस्त होने को दुखद बताया है. उन्होंने कहा कि कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन को दार्जीलिंग जिले में एक मालगाड़ी ने ठोकर मार दी है. आपदा राहत के लिए टीमों को दुर्घटनास्थल के लिए रवाना कर दिया गया है. रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन भी शुरू कर दिया गया है.
न्यू जलपाईगुड़ी से निकलने के बाद निजबाड़ी स्टेशन के पास हुई दुर्घटना
बताया गया है कि एक मालगाड़ी ने सियालदह जा रही कंचनजंगा एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन को उस वक्त ठोकर मार दी, जब ट्रेन न्यू जलपाईगुड़ी स्टेशन से निकली थी. दो डिब्बे बेपटरी हो गए और इसमें कई लोगों के घायल होने की खबर है. सोमवार को सुबह यह ट्रेन अपने नीयत समय से करीब आधा घंटा विलंब से न्यू जलपाईगुड़ी से चली थी और रांगापानी को पार किया. लेकिन, निजबाड़ी स्टेशन पहुंचने से ठीक पहले ही इस ट्रेन को मालगाड़ी ने ठोकर मार दी. डीएम, एसपी और रेस्क्यू टीम घटनास्थल के लिए रवाना हो गई है. खबर है कि दो स्लीपर कोच बुरी तरह से क्षतिग्रस्त हुए हैं.

पूर्व रेलवे ने सियालदह और नैहाटी स्टेशन पर विशेष यात्री सहायता बूथ बना दिया है. सियालदह डीआरएम दीपक निगम ने कहा है कि वे लोग यात्रियों की हरसंभव मदद करने को तैयार हैं. यात्री सुविधा उनकी प्राथमिकताओं में शामिल है. घटना में पांच लोगों के मारे जाने की सूचना मिली है. टक्कर के फलस्वरूप 2 कोच एक दूसरे पर चढ़ गए हैं.

The bogies of Kanchenjunga Express have been scattered here and there.
After the accident, many bogies of Kanchenjunga Express train got scattered here and there. This train left from Silchar in Assam at 11:35 am for Sealdah station of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal and was to reach Sealdah at 7:20 pm the next day. Senior railway officials are present at the spot and the passengers are being assisted by security personnel and local people.
Mamta Banerjee said- Teams left for disaster relief
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has described the accident of Kanchenjunga Express as tragic. He said that the Kanchenjunga Express train was hit by a goods train in Darjeeling district. Teams have been sent to the accident site for disaster relief. Rescue operation has also been started.
Accident occurred near Nijbari station after leaving New Jalpaiguri.
It is reported that a goods train hit the Sealdah-bound Kanchenjunga Express train when it had left New Jalpaiguri station. Two coaches derailed and several people were reported injured. On Monday morning, this train left New Jalpaiguri about half an hour late from its scheduled time and crossed Rangapani. But, just before reaching Nijbari station, this train was hit by a goods train. DM, SP and rescue team have left for the spot. It is reported that two sleeper coaches have been badly damaged.
Special passenger assistance booths built at Sealdah and Naihati stations
Eastern Railway has set up special passenger assistance booths at Sealdah and Naihati stations. Sealdah DRM Deepak Nigam has said that they are ready to help the passengers in every possible way. Passenger convenience is one of their priorities. Five people have been reported killed in the incident. As a result of the collision, two coaches ran over each other.
