ईचागढ़ – वृद्ध मादा हाथी की हुई मौत, पिछले 2 माह से बीमार चल रही थी हथनी

ईचागढ़ प्रखंड क्षेत्र के कुटाम में सोमवार को सुबह एक वृद्ध मादा हाथी मृत अवस्था में मिली I वृद्ध हथनी की मृत्यु की खबर सुबह पूरे क्षेत्र में तेजी से फैल गई, इसके बाद बड़ी संख्या में लोग उसे देखने पहुंचे I हथनी की मृत्यु की सूचना वन विभाग के अधिकारियों तक पहुंचाई गई I जानकारी के अनुसार मादा हाथी झुंड से बिछड़ने के बाद अकेले उसी क्षेत्र में लंबे समय से रह रही थी I पिछले दो माह से वृद्ध हथनी बीमार चल रही थी और खाना-पीना छोड़ दी थी I वन विभाग ने बीमार हथनी के पीछे एक टीम को निगरानी के लिए रखा था I खाना-पीना छोड़ देने के बाद वन कर्मियों ने खाना और पाईप लगाकर उसके पास तक पीने के लिए पानी पहुंचाया गया था I
इस संबंध में फॉरेस्टर राधारमण ठाकुर ने बताया कि मृत मादा हाथी का पोस्टमार्टम कराया जाएगा I इसके साथ ही हथनी का बिसरा फॉरेंसिक लैब भेजा जाएगा, ताकि मादा हाथी की मृत्यु की सही कारणों की जानकारी मिल सके I उन्होंने बताया कि लावा, कुटाम के जंगली क्षेत्र में मादा हाथी लंबे समय से रह रही थी I हथनी के बीमार पड़ने के बाद वन विभाग की ओर से उसके निगरानी के लिए एक टीम को लगाया गया था I वन विभाग की ओर से हाथनी की हर पल की खबर रखी जा रही थी I उन्होंने बताया कि वरीय अधिकारियों के साथ पोस्टमार्टम के लिए चिकित्सक की टीम मौके पर पहुंच रही है I पोस्टमार्टम के बाद नियमानुसार वन भूमि पर ही उसे मिट्टी में गाड़ दिया जाएगा I उन्होंने बताया कि विभाग के हथनी के मृत्यु के बाद विभिन्न पहलुओं पर जांच कर रही है I
