जिले के एसपी डॉ. विमल कुमार और एसडीपीओ हरविंदर सिंह ने आदित्यपुर थाना में मंगलवार की शाम प्रेसवार्ता की. प्रेस वार्ता में उन्होंने बताया कि पुलिस को ब्राउन शुगर के पैडलर की सूचना मिली थी. सूचना के आधार पर मुस्लिम बस्ती में छापेमारी की गई जहां से मो. फिरोज उर्फ हगरु को 750 पुड़िया ब्राउन शुगर के साथ पकड़ा गया है. जिले के सभी थानों को नशे के अवैध कारोबार के विरुद्ध कड़ी कार्रवाई करने आदेश जारी कर दिया गया है. आने वाले दिनों में और सख्ती के साथ नशे के अवैध कारोबारियों के विरुद्ध कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगीइस व्यक्ति का आपराधिक इतिहास रहा है. जुगसलाई पुलिस द्वारा इसे डकैती के मामले में पिछले दिनों जेल जा गया था. इसका कनेक्शन मुर्शिदाबाद के एक गैंग से है. जल्द ही पुलिस मेन सप्लायर तक पहुंचेगी. यह हल्दीपोखर में रह कर कारोबार कर रहा था. गिरफ्तार आरोपी मूलतः मुस्लिम बस्ती आदित्यपुर का ही रहने वाला है. अभी इसने हल्दी पोखर में आलीशान घर बना रखा है. प्रेसवार्ता में थाना प्रभारी राजन कुमार भी मौजूद रहे.
