बेंगलुरु :* मकर संक्रांति और लोहड़ी की तरह पोंगल भी फसल और किसानों का त्योहार है. पोंगल के त्योहार से ही तमिलनाडु में नए साल का शुभारंभ होता है. यह त्योहार चार दिन तक मनाया जाता है. इस साल पोंगल का त्योहार 15 जनवरी से लेकर 18 जनवरी तक मनाया जाएपोंगल दक्षिण भारत में मनाए जाने वाले प्रमुख त्योहारों में से एक है. उत्तर भारत में जब सूर्य उत्तराणय होते हैं तो पोंगल मनाया जाता है. ठीक उसी रह जब दक्षिण भारत में सूर्य उत्तरायण होते हैं तो पोंगल पर्व मनाया जाता है. मकर संक्रांति और लोहड़ी की तरह पोंगल भी फसल और किसानों का त्योहार है. पोंगल के त्योहार से ही तमिलनाडु में नए साल का शुभारंभ होता है. यह त्योहार चार दिन तक मनाया जाता है.
