वेब सीरीज हीरामंडी द डायमंड बाजार रिलीज होने के बाद से ही सुर्खियों में बनी हुई है। यह मल्टीस्टारर सीरीज है जिसमें सोनाक्षी सिन्हा ऋचा चड्ढा मनीषा कोइराला और शर्मिन सहगल समेत कई स्टार्स दिखाई दिए। कुछ सितारों का अभिनय दर्शकों को पसंद आया तो कुछ का नहीं जिसकी वजह से शर्मिन को भी काफी ट्रोल का सामना करना पड़ा।
हीरामंडी: द डायमंड बाजार’ सीरीज में उनकी एक्टिंग को खूब ट्रोल किया गया। अब इस मामले में उनके को-स्टार रहे शेखर सुमन ने अपना रिएक्शन दिया है। अभिनेता ने कहा है कि इस तरह की हो रही आलोचना एक्ट्रेस को बर्बाद कर सकती है।

हाल ही में शेखर सुमन ने ई-टाइम्स के साथ एक बातचीत में ‘हीरामंडी’ की अपनी को-स्टार शर्मिन सहगल का बचाव किया और कहा कि बहुत ज्यादा आलोचना उन्हें बर्बाद कर सकती है। अभिनेता ने कहा कि मुझे नहीं लगता कि भंसाली साहब ने सोचा होगा कि इसका कोई विपरीत प्रभाव हो सकता है।
वह उनकी भांजी है और पहले भी फिल्में कर चुकी है। वह यंग लड़की हैं और इस तरह की आलोचना उन्हें बर्बाद कर सकती है। इसके साथ ही अभिनेता ने लोगों से थोड़ा सहज होने का आग्रह किया।

सिर्फ इतना ही नहीं, अभिनेता ने आगे कहा कि इस ट्रोलिंग की वजह से उन्हें मजबूरी में अपना कमेंट सेक्शन बंद करना पड़ा। उन्होंने बताया था कि हीरामंडी के लिए उन्हें एक या दो बार नहीं, बल्कि 16 बार ऑडिशन देना पड़ा था। इतनी बार ऑडिशन देने से पता चलता है कि कास्टिंग की प्रक्रिया निष्पक्ष थी।
सिर्फ शेखर सुमन ही नहीं, बल्कि उनसे पहले शर्मिन की को-स्टार ताहा शाह ने भी उनका बचाव किया। उन्होंने एक इंटरव्यू ने कहा था कि उनके साथ काम करने के बाद मुझे पता है कि उन्होंने एक एक्ट्रेस के रूप में अपना बेस्ट दिया है।
