ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में हाथी के प्रकोप है,थोड़ा सचेत होकर अपने निजी दिनचरिया कार्यों को करे : खगेन महतो
जंगली हाथियों के आतंक से ग्रामीणों में दहशत,वृद्ध को कुचलने से हुआ मौत।
चांडिल : सराइकेला खरसावां जिला के चांडिल अनुमंडल क्षेत्र में जंगली हाथियों का आतंक चरम सीमा पर है। आए दिन जंगली हाथियों के आक्रमण ग्रामीणों को सामना करना पड़ता है।घटना रविवार सुबह को चौका थाना क्षेत्र खूंटी निवासी लीलकांत महतो (69) की जंगली हाथी ने खलिहान में कुचल कर मार डाला।गांवो में जमकर तांडव भी मचाया है,साथ ही किसानो की खेतो में लगे धान,मकई,गेहूं,टमाटर,लौकी
,खीरा, आदि फ़सलो को भी नष्ट कर दिया है।घटना को लेकर ईचागढ़ क्षेत्र के ग्रामीण काफी भयवित हैं,अब शाम होते ही डर सता रही है। सुचना मिलते ही ग्रामीणों के बीच समाजसेवी खगेन महतो पहुंच कर घटना की जानकारी लिए,एवं वन विभाग के अधिकारियों के साथ विभागीय मुआवजा राशि तत्काल मृतक के परिजनों को 50हज़ार रुपया दिए साथ ही कहा विभागीय और से परिवार को उचित मुआवजा दिलाने का भरोसा दिया। साथ ही विधानसभा क्षेत्र के ग्रामीण से अपील भी किया। मौके पर पहुंचे खूंटी वनपाल सनातन रवानी ने बताया कि जंगली हाथी को संभालने में कामयाब हे लेकिन हाथी अपने झुंड से बिछड़ कर ग्रामीणों को आक्रमण कर रहा,घटना को लेकर हमे खेद है, यथासंभव विभाग जंगली हाथियों को रोकने के लिए लगे हुए हे। फिल्हाल मृतक के परिवार को तत्काल पचास हजार रुपए के राशि मुआवजा के तौर पर दिया गया,मृतक को पोस्टम्रटम के लिए सदर अस्पताल सराइकेला भेजा गया,कागजी करवाई होने के पश्चात बाकी मुआवजा दिया जाएगा।
मौके पर जिला परिषद सदस्य सविता मार्डी,समाजसेवी खगेन महतो ,खूंटी पंचायत के मुखिया अपूर्वो सिंह सहित सैकड़ों ग्रामीण उपस्थित थे।
Panic among the villagers due to the terror of wild elephants, death due to crushing of an old man.

Crops like cucumber, etc. have also been destroyed. The villagers of Ichagarh area are quite fearful about the incident, now fear is haunting them as soon as the evening approaches. As soon as the information was received, the social worker Khagen Mahato reached among the villagers and inquired about the incident, and along with the officials of the Forest Department, immediately gave 50 thousand rupees to the family members of the deceased along with the departmental compensation amount and also assured to provide proper compensation to the family from the departmental side. Also appealed to the villagers of the assembly constituency. Khunti forester Sanatan Ravani, who reached the spot, told that he was able to handle the wild elephant, but the elephant separated from its herd and attacked the villagers, we are sorry about the incident, as much as possible the department is engaged to stop the wild elephants. At present, an amount of fifty thousand rupees was immediately given to the family of the deceased as compensation, the deceased was sent to Sadar Hospital Seraikela for postmortem, the remaining compensation will be given after the paperwork is done.
Hundreds of villagers including Zilla Parishad member Savita Mardi, social worker Khagen Mahato, head of Khunti Panchayat Apoorvo Singh were present on the occasion.
