पश्चिम बंगाल (West Bengal) की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी (Mamata Banerjee) ने गुरुवार को सरस्वती पूजा के अवसर पर राज्य में आयोजित ‘हटे खोरी’ कार्यक्रम में कहा कि बंगाली एशिया में बोली जाने वाली दूसरी सबसे बड़ी भाषा है जबकि दुनिया में इसका पांचवा स्थान है। उन्होंने कहा, “हमें याद रखना चाहिए कि हमें अपनी मातृभाषा सीखनी चाहिए चाहे हम कहीं भी रहें।”
मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने बंगाली में विशेष रुचि लेने के लिए पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल डॉ सीवी आनंद बोस को बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा, “हमारी मातृभाषा में विशेष रुचि लेने के लिए मैं राज्यपाल को बधाई देना चाहती हूं।” पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी कोलकाता के राजभवन में राज्यपाल सीवी आनंद बोस के ‘हटे खोरी’ कार्यक्रम में शिरकत कर रही थीं।

74वां गणतंत्र दिवस गुरुवार को पूरे पश्चिम बंगाल में जोश और उत्साह के साथ मनाया गया, जिसमें राज्यपाल बोस ने सेना, नौसेना, वायु सेना, पुलिसकर्मियों और छात्रों सहित नागरिकों द्वारा एक घंटे तक चलने वाली परेड की अध्यक्षता की। एक सैन्य हेलीकॉप्टर ने आधिकारिक कार्यक्रम स्थल रेड रोड पर गुलाब की पंखुड़ियां बरसाईं। राज्यपाल ने तिरंगा फहराया। इस अवसर पर ममता बनर्जी के अलावा उनके कैबिनेट सहयोगी, राज्य के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी और भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों के तीनों अंग भी मौजूद थे।
