दक्षिण अफ्रीका के विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज हेनरिच क्लासेन ने संन्यास लेने का ऐलान कर दिया है। क्लासेन ने चार साल के टेस्ट करियर में केवल चार ही मैच खेले। टेस्ट के अलविदा करने के बाद क्लासेन वनडे और टी20 फॉर्मेट में खेलते रहेंगे। क्लासेन IPL में सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद की टीम में शामिल हैं। साल 2019 में भारत के खिलाफ टेस्ट क्रिकेट में खेलने वाले क्लासेन ने अपने टेस्ट करियर में 13.00 के औसत से 104 रन बनाये। सिडनी में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ 35 रन उनकी सर्वश्रेष्ठ पारी रही।

संन्यास लेने के बाद विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज क्लासेन ने अपने बयान में कहा, ”मुझे जो टेस्ट कैप मिली वह मेरे लिए सबसे कीमती कैप है। मैं सही फैसला कर रहा हूं या नहीं इसे लेकर कुछ दिन नींद नहीं आई। मैंने लाल गेंद के क्रिकेट से संन्यास लेने का फैसला किया है। मैंने यह मुश्किल फैसला किया है क्योंकि यह खेल का मेरा सबसे पसंदीदा प्रारूप है। मैने मैदान के अंदर और बाहर जो लड़ाई लड़ी उसने मुझे वह क्रिकेटर बनाया जो मैं आज हूं। यह शानदार सफर रहा और मुझे खुशी है कि मैं अपने देश का प्रतिनिधित्व कर पाया।”

South African wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen has announced his retirement. Klaasen played only four matches in his four-year Test career. After bidding farewell to Tests, Klaasen will continue playing in ODI and T20 formats. Klaasen is included in the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in IPL. Klaasen, who played Test cricket against India in 2019, scored 104 runs at an average of 13.00 in his Test career. His best innings was 35 runs against Australia in Sydney.

After retiring, wicketkeeper batsman Klaasen said in his statement, “The Test cap I got is the most precious cap for me. I couldn’t sleep for a few days wondering whether I was making the right decision or not. I have decided to retire from red ball cricket. I have made this difficult decision because this is my favorite format of the game. The fight I fought on and off the field made me the cricketer I am today. It has been a great journey and I am happy that I have been able to represent my country.”
