‘वीएनआर पपीता’ किस्म के स्वस्थ और गुणवत्ता वाले रोग मुक्त पपीते के पौधों के वितरण का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन किया।

आज फल विज्ञान विभाग, बागवानी महाविद्यालय, बिंज, खूंटपानी ने ‘रांची लोकल’ और ‘वीएनआर पपीता’ किस्म के स्वस्थ और गुणवत्ता वाले रोग मुक्त पपीते के पौधों के वितरण का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन किया। आस-पास के गांवों यानी कुदासिंगी, बिंज और बारासी के स्थानीय किसानों (30 किसानों) के बीच पौधे वितरित किए गए। ये पौधे हॉर्टिकल्चर कॉलेज में चौथे वर्ष (मॉड्यूल 1) के छात्रों द्वारा डॉ. अर्केन्दु घोष और डॉ. अदिति गुहा चौधरी के मार्गदर्शन में तैयार किए गए हैं। प्रत्येक किसान को पपीते के 5 पौधे मिले। पपीते की व्यावसायिक खेती के लिए ये किस्में झारखंड के विभिन्न जिलों के लिए अत्यधिक उपयुक्त हैं। हॉर्टिकल्चर कॉलेज के एसोसिएट डीन डॉ. अंगदी रब्बानी ने किसानों को पपीते की वैज्ञानिक खेती और इसके प्रबंधन के बारे में संक्षिप्त जानकारी दी। उन्होंने यह भी आश्वासन दिया कि भविष्य में इस क्षेत्र के लिए उपयुक्त बागवानी फसलों की व्यावसायिक खेती के लिए कॉलेज से उन्हें हमेशा लाभ मिलेगा। स्थानीय किसानों के वित्तीय उत्थान के लिए कॉलेज द्वारा विभिन्न तकनीकों जैसे- मृदा परीक्षण, गुणवत्तापूर्ण पौध उत्पादन पर प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम, आय सृजन के लिए बागवानी फसलों का मूल्यवर्धन, जैविक और अजैविक तनाव के खिलाफ समय पर पौधों की सुरक्षा आदि का आयोजन किया जाएगा।

Today, the Department of Fruit Science, Horticulture College, Binj, Khuntapani successfully organized the distribution of healthy and quality disease free papaya plants of ‘Ranchi Local’ and ‘VNR Papaya’ varieties. Saplings were distributed among local farmers (30 farmers) of nearby villages i.e. Kudasingi, Binj and Barasi. These plants have been prepared by the students of 4th year (Module 1) in the College of Horticulture under the guidance of Dr. Arkendu Ghosh and Dr. Aditi Guha Choudhary. Each farmer got 5 papaya plants. These varieties are highly suitable for various districts of Jharkhand for commercial cultivation of papaya. Dr. Angadi Rabbani, Associate Dean of Horticulture College, gave brief information to the farmers about the scientific cultivation of papaya and its management. He also assured that in future they will always benefit from the college for commercial cultivation of horticulture crops suitable for this region. For the financial upliftment of the local farmers, the college will organize training programs on various techniques like soil testing, quality plant production, value addition of horticultural crops for income generation, timely protection of plants against biotic and abiotic stresses etc.
