टाटा स्टील यूआईएसएल ने विश्व पृथ्वी दिवस मनाया
जमशेदपुर, अप्रैल 22, 2023: टाटा स्टील यूटिलिटीज एंड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर सर्विसेज लिमिटेड (टीएसयूआईएसएल) ने पर्यावरण स्थिरता के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता के तहत आज कदमा में विश्व पृथ्वी दिवस मनाया। इस मौके पर करंज, पुत्रंजीव और बकुल प्रजाति के 300 से ज्यादा पौधे लगाए गए । वृक्षारोपण अभियान कार्बन उत्सर्जन को कम करने, प्राकृतिक संसाधनों के संरक्षण और जैव विविधता की रक्षा करने के उद्देश्य से टाटा स्टील यूआईएसएल की व्यापक पर्यावरणीय स्थिरता पहल का हिस्सा है।
वृक्षारोपण अभियान का नेतृत्व मुख्य अतिथि चाणक्य चौधरी, वाइस प्रेसिडेंट, कॉर्पोरेट सर्विसेज, टाटा स्टील के साथ रितु राज सिन्हा, प्रबंध निदेशक, टाटा स्टील यूआईएसएल और प्रणय सिन्हा, चीफ, कॉर्पोरेट सर्विसेज, टाटा स्टील ने किया। इस अवसर पर श्री रघुनाथ पांडे, अध्यक्ष जेएसयू, कैप्टन धनंजय मिश्रा, वरिष्ठ जीएम टीएसयूआईएसएल और टीएसयूआईएसएल की वरिष्ठ नेतृत्व टीम भी उपस्थित थी। वरिष्ठ नेतृत्व टीम ने भी विभिन्न प्रजातियों के पेड़ लगाने में भाग लिया।
श्री चौधरी ने सभा को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, “यह दिवस विश्व स्तर पर पेड़ लगाने और हमारे पर्यावरण की रक्षा के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। पेड़ हमारे ग्रह की जैव विविधता, पारिस्थितिक तंत्र, जलवायु और संस्कृतियों को आकार देने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। मुझे विश्वास है कि जमशेदपुर में स्थानीय समुदाय इस तरह के प्रयासों में सक्रिय रूप से भाग लेंगे।”
इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए, रितु राज सिन्हा ने कहा, “एक जिम्मेदार कॉर्पोरेट नागरिक के रूप में, हमारी कंपनी ने पर्यावरण और जल प्रबंधन सहित विभिन्न स्थिरता मापदंडों पर अपने लिए उच्च मानक स्थापित किए हैं। हम अपने दृष्टिकोण के मूल में स्थिरता के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं, तथा पर्यावरण पर सकारात्मक प्रभाव सुनिश्चित करते हैं।
यहां यह ध्यान दिया जा सकता है कि करंज एक मध्यम आकार का, तेजी से बढ़ने वाला सदाबहार एवं पर्णपाती पेड़ है जो आमतौर पर लगभग 8 मीटर की ऊंचाई तक पहुंचता है, और 15 से 25 मीटर तक बढ़ सकता और फैल सकता है। पुत्रंजीव एक प्रसिद्ध, मध्यम आकार का सदाबहार पेड़ है जो 12 मीटर की ऊंचाई तक बढ़ सकता है। इसमें गहरे भूरे रंग की छाल के साथ लटकी हुई शाखाएँ होती हैं जिनमें क्षैतिज दालें होती हैं, और बकुल एक सदाबहार पेड़ है जो एक अच्छी तरह से परिभाषित, घने, गोल चंदवा के साथ लगभग 16 मीटर की ऊँचाई तक पहुँच सकता है।
इस वर्ष पूरे जमशेदपुर में 125000 पौधे लगाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है
Jamshedpur, April 22, 2023: As part of its commitment towards environmental sustainability, Tata Steel Utilities & Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) celebrated World Earth Day at Kadma today. On this occasion, more than 300 saplings of Karanj, Putranjeev and Bakul species were planted. The tree plantation drive is part of Tata Steel UISL’s wider environmental sustainability initiative aimed at reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources and protecting biodiversity.
The tree plantation drive was led by the Chief Guest Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel along with Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL and Pranay Sinha, Chief, Corporate Services, Tata Steel. Shri Raghunath Pandey, President JSU, Capt Dhananjay Mishra, Sr. GM TSUISL and senior leadership team of TSUISL were also present on the occasion. The senior leadership team also participated in planting trees of different species.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Choudhary said, “The day is celebrated globally to create awareness about the importance of planting trees and protecting our environment. Trees play an important role in shaping our planet’s biodiversity, ecosystems, climate and cultures. I am sure the local community in Jamshedpur will actively participate in such efforts.”

It may be noted here that karanj is a medium-sized, fast-growing evergreen deciduous tree that generally reaches a height of about 8 m, and can grow and spread up to 15 to 25 m. Putranjeev is a well-known, medium-sized evergreen tree that can grow up to 12 meters in height.
