आज कुचाई प्रखण्ड के उत्क्रमित उच्च विद्यालय अरुवां में बाल विवाह मुक्त भारत विषय पर एक कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया । इस कार्यशाला में 200 से अधिक बालिकाओं ने भाग लिया साथ ही कार्यशाला के उपरांत बालिकाओं द्वारा सामूहिक रूप से शपथ ली गई कि बाल विवाह नहीं करेंगी और अपने आसपास यदि बाल विवाह हो रहा हो तो उसको रोकने के लिए प्रयास करेंगी। कार्यशाला पर विशेष प्रकाश डालते हुए शिक्षक तरुण कुमार सिंह द्वारा बताया गया की बाल विवाह निरोधक अधिनियम 1929 को बनाया गया जिसे शारदा अधिनियम के नाम से भी जानते हैं बीच-बीच में 1949 ,1978 और 2006 में इसमें आवश्यक संशोधन किए गए। वर्तमान बाल विवाह निरोधक अधिनियम नवंबर 2007 से लागू है जिसके तहत बालकों के लिए न्यूनतम विवाह की उम्र 21 एवं बालिकाओं के लिए 18 वर्ष निर्धारित की गई है । बालिकाओं के लिए 18 वर्ष को बढ़ाकर 21 वर्ष करने पर भी विचार चल रहा है। इस कानून की धारा 9 यह कहती है कि अगर कोई पुरुष दोषी पाया गया तो उसे 2 साल तक की सजा या एक लाख रुपए का जुर्माना या दोनों हो सकता है । मां-बाप को भी सजा हो सकती है। बाल विवाह एक प्रकार बालिकाओं का शारीरिक एवं मानसिक उत्पीड़न है, इससे बालिका का शारीरिक एवं भावनात्मक विकास रुक जाता है साथ ही देश की अर्थव्यवस्था पर भी नकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ता है ।बालिकाओं से आह्वान किया गया कि वह बाल विवाह के विरुद्ध आवाज बुलंद करें और यदि जबरन बाल विवाह के घेरे में उन्हें लाया जाय तो शिक्षकों से संपर्क करें उनकी हर संभव मदद की जाएगी । आज के इस कार्यक्रम में बाल संसद के सदस्यगण, मनोज बोयपाई, भागीरथी महतो, राजेश मंडल ,दीनबंधु सिंह पात्र, गीतांजली महतो ,अजय मिंज, बुधनलाल मुंडा, मनीषा हेंब्रम, कालेश्वरी सरदार, शेफाली, रमेश बेहरा, टुपरू मुंडा समेत सभी शिक्षक शिक्षिकाएं सम्मिलित हुए।

The current Child Marriage Restraint Act is in force since November 2007, under which the minimum marriage age for boys has been set at 21 years and for girls at 18 years. Consideration is also going on to increase the age of 18 years to 21 years for girls. Child marriage is a form of physical and mental harassment of girls, it hinders the physical and emotional development of the girl child and also has a negative impact on the economy of the country. Girls were called upon to raise their voice against child marriage and if If they are brought into the circle of forced child marriage, then they should contact the teachers and they will be provided all possible help. In today’s program, members of Bal Sansad, Manoj Boypai, Bhagirathi Mahato, Rajesh Mandal, Deenbandhu Singh Patra, Gitanjali Mahato, Ajay Minj, Budhanlal Munda, Manisha Hembram, Kaleshwari Sardar, Shefali, Ramesh Behera, Tupru Munda and all the teachers participated.
