सरायकेलाः जिला मुख्यालय,खरसावां,महालिमोरूप,राजनगर व सीनी समेत शहरी व ग्रामीण क्षेत्रो में मंगलवार को हर्षोल्लास के साथ प्रथमाष्टमी का त्यौहार मनाया गया।
मार्गशीर्ष माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी को मनाए जाने वाले इस त्यौहार में घर की ज्येष्ठ संतान की सुख-समृद्धि के लिए विशेष पूजा अर्चना की जाती है। इस अवसर पर घर की बड़ी संतान को नए परिधान पहनाए जाने की परंपरा है। इसके बाद आरती उतार कर ज्येष्ठ संतानों की विशेष पूजा अर्चना की गई।
इस अवसर पर हर घर में विशेष पारंपरिक पकवान बनाए जाते हैं। खासकर हल्दी के पत्ते में लपेट कर बनाए गये एंडुरी पीठा समेत अन्य पकवान की महक हर घर से आती है। घर के बड़े बच्चे का जब पहली बार प्रथमाष्टमी का त्यौहार मनाया जाता है तो पूरे घर मे उत्सव सा माहौल रहता है। प्रथमाष्टमी त्योहार को लेकर ज्येष्ठ संतानों में काफी हर्ष देखा गया।

In this festival celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month, special worship is offered for the happiness and prosperity of the eldest child of the family. On this occasion, there is a tradition of dressing the eldest child of the family in new clothes. After this, Aarti was performed and special worship was done for the eldest children.
On this occasion, special traditional dishes are prepared in every house. Especially the smell of Enduri Pitha prepared wrapped in turmeric leaves and other dishes comes from every house. When the festival of Prathamashtami is celebrated for the first time for the eldest child of the house, there is a festive atmosphere in the entire house. A lot of joy was seen among the eldest children regarding the Prathamashtami festival.
