ग्रामीण तैयारी में जुटे हैं पुरुष आवश्यक का साम्रगी खरीदने में लगे हैं महिला घरों की लिपाई पुताई के साथ-साथ कलाकृति में सुंदर कलाकृति बनाते में व्यस्त हैं। सोहराय पर्व कार्तिक मास की अमावस्या से शुरू होकर पूर्णिमा तक चलता रहता है। किसान अपने खेतों में हल जोतने का काम समाप्त होने के बाद गाय और बैलों को खुश करने के लिए पर्व मनाते हैं। पहला दिन में ग्रामीण अपने पशुधन को तालाब में नहलाते हैं , दूसरा दिन में पुजारी ने गांव की छोर में गोट माड़ा पूजा कर पशु को शुरुआत करते हैं। गोट पूजा में मुर्गा की बलि चढ़ाई जाती है, इसके बाद प्रसाद के रूप में ग्रहण किया जाता है। शाम होने के बाद महिला अपने पशुधन को आरती उतारती है।तीसरा दिन किसान को गोहाल पूजा करते हैं शाम में महिला अपने पशुधन को आरती उतारते हैं।चौथा दिन में किसान अपने पशुधन को आंगन में खुंटा गाड कर पशुधन को बधने के बाद मांदल नगाड़े बजाकर वह सींह पर डरावना चीज डालते हुए खूब नाचते हैं। इसमें भी किसान अपनी एकता बनाए रखने के लिए बेहतर नाच करने वाले पशु मालिक को पुरस्कार दिया जाता है। पांचवा दिन में गांव में ग्रामीण टोली बनाकर गाते हुए घर-घर जाकर खाते पीते हैं ।
The villagers are busy in preparations, men are busy in buying essential materials, women are busy in plastering the houses as well as making beautiful artwork. Sohrai festival starts from the new moon day of Kartik month and continues till the full moon day. Farmers celebrate the festival after the completion of plowing their fields to please the cows and bulls. On the first day, the villagers bathe their livestock in the pond, on the second day, the priest performs the Goat Mada puja at the end of the village and starts the animal life. In Goat Puja, a cock is sacrificed, after which it is consumed as Prasad. After evening, the women perform Aarti for their livestock. On the third day, the farmers perform Gohal Puja. In the evening, the women perform Aarti for their livestock. On the fourth day, after tying the livestock, the farmers perform Aarti for their livestock by playing Mandal drums. He dances a lot while wearing a scary thing on his chest. In this too, to maintain the unity of the farmers, the animal owner who dances better is given a prize. On the fifth day, villagers in the village form groups and go from door to door, eating and drinking.
